Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world, covering an area of 162.6 hectares. There is a lot to see and the temple has a rich history.
Originally a Hindu temple in the Khmer Empire, it gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the twelfth century. The temple is considered to be the highlight of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia and is on the national flag. It is also the largest tourist attraction in the country.
The tower has the shape of a lotus button.
