A heron sits blissfully with its long beak poaching its feathers. The eyes virtually closed, because this is nice and this is good. He had to really twist his neck in a curve to get to it properly. In the background the bushes and scrub on the other side of the small water he was standing by. This heron was not sleeping, he was really nursing his feathers. A few seconds later, he caught sight of me and started watching me.
