These two beech trees have tremendous character and to do them justice I opted to photograph them vertically as if in a portrait. The tree on the left has two trunks which look quite dynamic and the tree in the right, with its robe looks as if it is slowly moving towards the right. It was a very warm August morning and the conditions were far from perfect for woodland photography, but I saw the opportunity of creating a sunstar with my wide angle lens to give this photograph that little bit extra. This photograph was shortlisted in two landscape photography awards and it is one of my favorites.
