About "'To the Light the Light, to the Light of St.Ives'"

by Tymn Lintell

About the artwork

In the far South West of Cornwall lies one of the most magical harbours. Behind the harbour and its boats are tiny streets packed with sturdy granite cottages. Some cottages the home to a local fisherman/artist like Alfred Wallis.
Later, some of the other more expansive sheds and buildings became homes and studios to a band of artists who fled the cities in search of 'The Light' that magical light of St Ives.
That magical light, the same light as today and tomorrow that drew Ben Nicholson; Henry Moore, Patrick Heron, Terry Frost and the mighty Barbara Hepworth to develop their visions in multiple media.
Today the town is the home to Tate St Ives a thoroughly modern vibrant art gallery. Go if if you can. Meanwhile here is my image of '... towards Carbis Bay'. Enjoy and Dream.
