About the artwork

Female nude of the god Venus who, as a nude model, admires himself in a mirror. Because the girl is naked on the portrait his belly, torso and a tit are visible. The angel holding the mirror stands with his back and buttocks towards the viewer.

Venus, the Roman goddess of love. Cupid of Amor is in Roman mythology the divine, eternally young son of Venus.

Titian breathed a warmth and life in the remote source to evoke a surprisingly immediate and sensual modern Venus. Her supple flesh seems to melt through the touch of the cupid who struggles to give her the crown of love. As she pulls a wine-colored velvet wrap around her, soft, luxuriant and evokes a sense of touch, Venus reveals her body as much as she hides it. The beautiful woman staring at her mirror image is a favourite theme of Renaissance love poetry in which the writer is jealous of the happy mirror that enjoys the beautiful image of his lady.

Titian (Pieve di Cadore, Italy, circa 1487 - Venice, 27 August 1576), actually Tiziano Vecelli or Vecellio, was one of the most important painters of the High Renaissance. In 1532 he came into contact with Emperor Charles V, who raised Titian to the nobility and appointed him court painter. Thereafter, Titian worked for Philip II of Spain, for whom he made mainly mythological, erotic work.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
