About "Tiny water droplets decorate the fluff of a Tragopogon in beige - taupe shades"

by Marjolijn van den Berg

About the artwork

"Small water droplets decorate the fluff of a Tragopogon in beige - taupe shades" is a macro photo of a small piece of a fluff of a Tragopogon on which small water droplets are still partly lying and attached.
When taking this photo, I opted for a shallow depth of field, so everything in front of and behind the focal point (at the transition from stalk to fluff) gradually fades away. If you zoom in on the work, you can see this clearly. Because I photographed the picture partly through another piece of fluff, the underside of the work is extra soft, creating a very calm atmosphere. This comes out nicely with the part that is already faded.
An image which has a natural look, obviously because of the subject, but also because of the colours.
A Tragopogon (Morning Star), like the common dandelion, is a member of the Composite family. When the flower has finished flowering, it turns into a ball of fluff. After a while, the fluffy flowers leave the fluffy bulb and this is how they disperse the seeds.
This work could hang beautifully in the living room, bedroom or kitchen on aluminium or artframe, for example.
