In Time Travel, we see a little boy with a suitcase in his hand and a balloon shaped like a clock, lit by a crescent moon. He moves through a transparent glass tunnel, moving between the here and the there. Above him stretches a deep starry night, while at the end of the tunnel looms a mystical landscape - lit by one bright, almost otherworldly star.
The image evokes the feeling of an inner journey, as well as a literal journey through time. The suitcase represents luggage: memories, dreams, perhaps even fears. The clock-balloon symbolises time itself - fleeting, light, but always present. Through the tunnel it is guided, a protective cocoon between worlds, between past and future.
The work plays with the desire to return or move forward - to a place we imagine, or perhaps remember. Time travel invites reflection on how we move through time, with everything we carry with us. The little boy is child, traveller and symbol at the same time: hopeful on his way to something unknown far away
