The Schoorl dunes are perhaps the most beautiful in our country. They are certainly the widest. They are about's 6 km wide here. You can only get there by bike or on foot. So it is always very quiet here.
You can take a photo at the same place every day and it will be very different each time. The atmosphere is determined by the weather. Showers often originate over the sea and then move inland. These showers are very visible on the coast. And especially by the time the sun sets, it can just shine through between the clouds as in this picture. The colours are then magnificent. The marram grass keeps the sand from scattering. But it doesn't grow everywhere, which means the dune is constantly changing. After a storm, the sea pounds against the dunes and whole stretches are swept away. The wind also makes the sand nice and smooth.
Al sinds mijn tienertijd is fotografie mijn passie. Ik heb zelfs nog een tijd een donkere kamer gehad.
