About the artwork

The village by the river, but which village? It is a fantasy painting, but I can so imagine that this looks like the rolling countryside of France, Greece or Italy. What are you thinking of?

It is early in the morning when the mist is still rising among the hilly landscape. Where small villages are hidden among beautiful nature with many forests. In the distance high mountains and a little further ahead a bridge reflected in the water. The village is not much bigger than a few low houses and a church, whose tower is clearly visible. Because of the different layers you are as it were drawn into the painting and the trees in the foreground give it even more depth.

I made the painting with watercolors. Real handiwork! The original is 40 x 50 cm, but the nice thing about a print is that you can choose any size and material you want.

The painting has been photographed in such a way that the structure of the watercolor paper is still clearly visible. This has the advantage that it looks even more like a real painting, even though it is a print.
