In front of you unfolds a typical polder landscape from the Northeast Polder, a vast plain where the horizon seems infinite and man's order is visible in the applied geometry. Clean lines of fields and meadows subtly alternate with different shades of green, yellow and brown. The landscape exudes tranquillity and simplicity, an ode to the rhythm of nature and the hard work of the farmers who shaped this area.
My inspiration for this work is rooted in the serene balance of this flat land, where man and nature work harmoniously together. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, almost meditative, and tells a story about the beauty of simplicity and precision. The clouds gliding gently across the land cast shadows as if playing a game with the landscape below. It evokes a sense of freedom, as if you can escape the hectic pace of everyday life for a while.
This image brings a sense of connection with the earth and its rhythms to an interior. The soothing play of colours and the interplay between sky and land make it a special statement on the wall. The work captures not only a landscape, but also a moment of stillness and admiration for the Dutch polder, a work of art by man and nature.
