The tug on her way to the port of IJmuiden.
After assisting an empty cargo ship she is now on her way to the berth. I often see her at the quay of the port of IJmuiden. It is a tug with classic lines very different from the tugs of today.
In the low sunlight and the sea vapor it gives a special landscape. A small breeze gives the North pier of district to misty image in the low sun. The ships are inside the people on board ready for the evening.
This panorama gives a nice picture of a quiet harbor. But behind the camera the next ship is leaving the lock and heading out to sea. On its way to a port somewhere in the world. Will we see the ship again in a few months? The port's tugs are already ready for the next ship.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
