The female stonechat is a bird of mainly heaths, dunes and outlying areas. They often sit in the top of a tree on the lookout to hunt for insects. This makes them easy to find. This photo was taken on the Veluwezoom on the Rozendaalsche veld. The beautiful brown coloured female is sitting in an air pine here.
