The start of the Geirangerfjord in the mist by Dlanor

A mystical landscape photograph of the start of the world-famous Geirangerfjord in Norway, shrouded in thick mist and fog, taken from the cruise ship Costa Favolosa during a cruise through the Norwegian fjords in August 2026.

This boat bobs solitary on the mirror-smooth, grey fjord waters, surrounded by towering, steep mountain faces that slowly fade into the low-hanging clouds. It is a large ship that appears small amongst the mountain walls. The silence is almost palpable. This is the pure magic of the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a misty summer’s morning, where nature is both overwhelming and serene.

The minimalist composition featuring this ship emphasises the immense scale of the Norwegian fjords and the insignificance of humankind within this majestic landscape. The soft light, the reflection on the water and the mysterious atmosphere create a timeless and meditative image.

The perfect wall decoration for lovers of Norway, fjords, minimalism, tranquillity, mist, mysticism and Scandinavian nature photography. A work of art that brings stillness, space and contemplation to your living room, bedroom or office. Ideal for a modern, soothing interior that evokes memories of an unforgettable cruise through the Norwegian fjords.
