The sawmill De Salamander in Leidschendam is a tower mill which is still in full operation. Mill guides show visitors around, explaining the history and operation of the mill. Young and old can then experience how the windmill cuts logs of different types of wood such as beech, elm and oak into planks. The wood is intended for maintenance of the mill and for sale to individuals, furniture makers, etc.
