About the artwork

The Rose, the most famous flower among all flowers. The flower has been around for millions of years and was already much loved for its beauty and fragrance by the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians in ancient times. Since the second part of the 16th century, the Rose also came to the Netherlands. The flower is very popular all over the world and is therefore often used in bouquets, placed in gardens as a shrub or climbing plant or given individually.
Symbolic meaning
When you think of the Rose, you think of love. The flower that stands for love and romance. Each colour of the Rose has a different meaning.

- The red Rose: The red Rose stands for love, loyalty, respect and friendship. Express your love to someone with a beautiful bunch of red Roses. A red Rose also means perfection and beauty. The dark red Rose is widely used in mourning arrangements. The colour symbolises sorrow and mourning.
But also happiness, admiration, gratitude, elegance, romance, grace, longing, excitement and joy. This significant flower is widely used in Mother's Day bouquets. A perfect bunch of flowers to surprise your fledgling love with. A dark pink Rose represents magic, mystery and royalty. In addition, the dark pink Rose also stands for friendship, truth and solidarity. To which friend will you give a beautifully meaningful Rose?
