During my tour of Sicily, a visit to Mount Etna could not be missed.
The owner of the hotel in Catania told me that the route to the north side of Mount Etna would be a very beautiful and quiet one.
He didn't lie about this - what a beautiful route it was.
Lots of winding roads through a wooded area, after every bend the view was different.
At one point I had this view of Mount Etna, which summed up the whole trip to Mount Etna.
The road there, the forests and the snow-covered Etna.
I just had to capture this image with my camera.
I did not go all the way to the summit, at one point you are not allowed to go further yourself.
Then you have to continue, for a fee, with an all-terrain vehicle that takes you to just below the summit, after which you can continue on foot under guidance.
I didn't feel the need for that, having seen volcanoes from the top before.
