Three (If you look closely) of the over 350 remaining grain mills on the Swedish island of Öland. in the nineteenth century there were over 2000. Most of them are wooden standard mills. The mill is built around a central heavy wooden beam. The beam is supported by slanting struts resting on rocks. To be able to turn the mill a long "tail beam" is attached.
