That red chair and the book are at the centre of this mysterious work. Mysterious because it undoubtedly tells a story. A story told by the objects, the lady and the bird and, of course, the atmosphere this work exudes. In the middle of the dark small room is a wooden kitchen chair with a very large book on it. The book is lit by a simple light bulb. Perhaps the book is a recipe book telling how to make that lemonade that stands on the floor by the chair leg in a carafe with a glass next to it. The large incoming bird is apparently interested in the lemons lying on the book. Under the chair is a skull, what it is doing there is of course the question. Perhaps the lady standing behind the chair and staring out of the window can answer that. She is far away with her thoughts, as she does not even react to the entry of the big bird. The colours of this mysterious work are brown, orange, yellow, grey-blue and grey-green. Halloween.
As an artist, I like to enter a colorful world especially the world of flowers. This colourful and so positive world appeals to me enormously. Flowers spread a positive atmosphere because of the colors and the beautiful and diverse shapes and one can never get enough of that!.. Read more…
