I stand in front of my collage and think about the different identities and moments it shows. To the side of the collage stands a man. He is wearing a black suit and a hat. He looks like he is thinking hard. He looks confident, but also like he is unsure about something. He is looking at a woman's face, which is hidden by the noise of the city. You can see cars, buildings, billboards and streetlights, and other people passing by. Everything seems to be moving and breathing, just like the woman's face. Her eyes are open but seem strayed in thought, but they are still very expressive. The man, who represents order and structure, seems to be wondering where he fits with the woman's intensity. This work is about how we, as individuals, encounter the enormity of others and of the environment that shapes us.
