About ‘The purple three’ by Onno van Kuik

A skull is the symbol for the dark side of life. A sign of death, but also used to frighten opponents by pirates or military units, for example. And often used by mysterious beliefs and often a recurring element in metal music. And, of course, not to be missed at Halloween and the Mexican festival Día de Muertos.

As a video editor, I spend all day moving images and telling stories. That is precisely why I find it so inspiring to capture it all in a still image.
I really like macro photography, a whole new inspiring world opens up when you can look at everyday subjects so closely. I also spend a lot of time with my camera in nature. Nothing is as beautifully made as what nature itself builds. And, of course, the camera is always with me when I travel as well.
