These delicate flowers, in shades of pink and coral, emerge gracefully from a tangle of stems covered with sharp thorns. Photographed near the Prambanan temple in Yogyakarta, they illustrate magnificently the contrast between gentleness and strength, between the fragility of life and the harshness of the world.
This plant, often called the "crown of Christ", symbolises resilience and perseverance. Despite its defensive appearance, it unfurls brilliant flowers, a reminder that beauty can be born even in the midst of hardship. In the tropical light of Java, its petals seem almost luminescent, contrasting with the dark stone of the ancient temples.
The scene invites reflection: thorns protect life, flowers celebrate its flowering. In a place as spiritually charged as Prambanan, this duality takes on its full meaning, evoking the coexistence of pain and grace, protection and beauty.
Passionate about photography, I travel the world in search of the most beautiful shots.
