The old town of Füssen on the River Lech beneath a vast cloudy sky by ManfredFotos

The old town of Füssen stretches out above the River Lech as a bright ensemble of historic buildings and red-tiled roofs. A striking tower rises between the houses, adding a vertical accent to the expansive townscape. A dense belt of green trees lines the riverbank, visually separating the architecture from the turquoise-blue water. On the right, a bridge spans the river, whilst in the foreground a light-coloured gravel area and low riverside vegetation create additional depth. The vast sky, with its patches of white and grey-blue clouds as well as isolated areas of vivid blue, is particularly striking. This lends the photograph an open, fresh atmosphere and makes it appear more expansive than the more tightly framed views from the same series. As a wall hanging, the wide landscape format offers a balanced blend of town, nature and sky, and can visually open up a room. Light-coloured walls and natural wood tones complement the cheerful colour scheme particularly well. For lovers of Füssen, travellers to the Allgäu and fans of historic towns, this photograph is a versatile travel souvenir that vividly captures the characteristic location of the old town right on the banks of the Lech.
