The legendary Hawker Hurricane, a fighter aircraft of the Royal Air Force. It was used during the Second World War and gained particular fame during the Battle of Britain.
During the Battle of Britain, the Hurricanes were responsible for 70% of the downed German aircraft. Although older in design than the also legendary Spitfire (the rear part of the fuselage was traditionally made of wood and fabric), the Hurricane was of vital importance during the Battle of Britain. Because they were much simpler in construction than the Spitfires they could be repaired much quicker. Also the Polish squadron that shot down most of the enemy aircraft flew with the Hurricane.
