The landscape of Easter Island is an immersive mix of volcanic beauty, historical mystery and cultural richness. Located in the Pacific Ocean, some 3,700 kilometres west of Chile, this remote island offers a unique and enchanting panorama.
The most striking feature of the landscape are the imposing Moai statues, gigantic stone statues scattered across the island. Created by the Rapa Nui people, these statues are symbols of ancient Polynesian culture and add to the mystical atmosphere of the island. Some Moai stand at vantage points along the coast, while others spread inland, surrounded by lush vegetation and rolling hills.
Besides the Moai, Easter Island's landscape also offers impressive volcanic formations, such as Rano Kau Crater and Rano Raraku Crater, where many of the Moai were carved. These craters form picturesque lakes surrounded by steep cliffs and lush vegetation, offering breathtaking views.
Along Easter Island's coastline we find rocky shorelines, hidden coves and vast beaches, such as Anakena and Ovahe, where crystal clear waters and soft sandy beaches invite relaxation and exploration.
In short, Easter Island's landscape is a fascinating and enchanting destination, where natural beauty and cultural heritage come together to create an experience that is both breathtaking and unforgettable.
