About ‘The invisible at the bottom of the glass’ by Cecile Quenum

A simple glass of water on a table.
But around it, the light becomes architecture. Complex reflections spring up, unfolding to form almost spectral figures. We can make out a mask, a cage, an organ. The image is as disturbing as it is fascinating.
Everything has been captured as it was, on the spot, without any special effects or retouching. It is not a montage, but an epiphany of light. The gesture is minimal, the intention pure: to see differently.
Black and white reveals lines, layers and vibrations. It transforms an everyday object into an almost organic apparition.
This work speaks of what we never really look at. It evokes the worlds hidden behind simple gestures, inner reflections, the visual enigmas of reality.
In an interior, it acts like an enigmatic room. It attracts, questions and suspends the gaze. It will appeal to those who love abstraction born of the everyday, luminous mysteries, the thresholds between form and illusion.

I'm a Belgian-Beninese photographer who captures the relationship between the body, light and presence. I work alone on my walks, or while observing my quoitiden, but also in collaboration with models, make-up artists and other artists.

My aim is to capture the things that usually escape the eye - a silence, a shiver, a spark, a beauty, a light created or fragile. Each photograph bears witness to an emotion or a suspended moment.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
