About ‘The daisy, a symbol for virginity’ by Gerry van Roosmalen
The daisy is a symbol of the goddess Ishtar and as such occurs frequently at the Isjtarpoort, an ancient city gate of Babylon from 575 BC.
In Celtic sagas the flower is given the magical property that it can stop the growth process. The Milka fairy would have secretly fed the king's son with daisies, so that he would never grow up.
