Photo of the rocky landscape on the British island of Guernsey on the French coast. To be specific: the Lihou peninsula. This landscape photo was taken during the so-called 'golden hour', which gives very warm tones and long shadows, while the sky is filled with pastel colours. Typical are the walls of boulders that meander through the landscape as yard boundaries, connecting with existing rock formations. Picturesque and enduring, these stone walls form a beautiful composition, with the low sun providing a nice depth effect. Although Guernsey (and neighbouring Jersey) is a fairly small island, it offers a richly varied nature. A visit to the Lihou Peninsula should be well planned, as it can only be reached on foot at low tide. If you linger too long, the connecting route goes under, and you are stuck on the island. I must confess that we did not manage to keep our feet completely dry during the crossing.
