About "The captain"

About the artwork

The sun burns softly on his skin as he, with steady hand and calm gaze, surveys the deck. His silver-grey beard catches the light and reflects the wisdom of many years at sea. The cap, weathered T-shirt and dark sunglasses tell a story of someone at home on the water.

There is a certain calmness in his posture. As if he knows exactly what the sea is up to, even before the waves themselves know. His hand rests on a cloth-wrapped mast, fingers slightly flexed, accustomed to the rhythm of ropes, sails and wind. This is no tourist or casual passer-by. This is a man who reads the horizon like an open book.

Behind him, the green mainland fades, but in front of him lies the open sea, unbounded and inviting. In his presence, you sense the old sailor's wisdom: that the water is always bigger than yourself, and that respect for the elements is the first rule.

This picture is an ode to the people who spend their lives among the waves, where every line of face and every sun bleach in the fabric carries a story.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
