the candle
now but a flickering flame
still lights my way
Candle minimalist is a watercolour painting in portrait format painted by the artist Karen Kaspar. A burning red candle is painted with a few spontaneous brushstrokes on a white background.
This work, a combination of painting and haiku, is a joint project by Karen Kaspar (© art) and Marjolein Rotsteeg (© Haiku).
A haiku is a traditional Japanese poetry form consisting of three lines.
Here the watercolour painting has been supplemented with the haiku in English. The painting is also available without text (see album 'Christmas and Winter').
You can find more paintings with haiku and poems in my albums 'Haiku and Painting English' and 'Haiku and Painting Dutch'. New works are constantly being added to the albums. So keep checking back from time to time!
