About the artwork

The Zugspitze: a breathtaking adventure

The Zugspitze. At 2,962 metres, it is Germany's highest mountain. But it lies on the border with Austria, and the Austrian side offers an equally spectacular experience. I had long wanted to climb and capture this mountain, and I knew the Austrian side would offer a unique perspective.

After proper preparation, both physically and mentally, I began my adventure. I chose to take the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn, a cable car that takes you to the top. But I didn't just want to take the cable car. I also wanted to hike, experience nature, and capture the beauty of the surroundings.

Cable car to the Zugspitze

So I began the hike to the valley station of the cable car. It was a beautiful trip through the mountains, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. I took my time taking pictures's of the flowers, the trees, the mountains, and the clouds.

Hike to the Zugspitze

When I arrived at the valley station, I was already impressed. But the view from the summit was even more beautiful. I could see the whole area, from the Alps to the lakes and valleys. It was a moment of pure beauty, a moment I wanted to hold on to forever.

View from the Zugspitze

I immediately started taking photos's. I wanted to capture every detail, every angle, every shadow. I wanted to show the Zugspitze as I saw it: majestic, powerful, and unforgettable.

I spent a couple of hours at the summit, enjoying the view and taking photos's. When it was time to go back, I took the cable car down. But I knew I would return one day, to climb the Zugspitze again and capture its beauty again.
