The Zaan, with its characteristic windmills, captured in striking black and white. Rough contrasts and dark silhouettes are reflected in the calm waters of the river. For centuries, the windmills have braved the wind and weather along the banks of the Zaan. Their sails turn almost daily, forming a living symbol of this region’s rich past. A beautiful and timeless view that reflects the beauty and history of the Zaan region.

Through my work as a street photographer, I showcase the raw, unpolished aspects of city life. With my photographs, I aim to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then imagine their own story to go with it. I also have a particular fondness for industrial environments, such as port areas and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
