About ‘The Windows Above the City No. 3’ by Peter Balan
Through a window, a view of Paris unfolds, broken up into luminous, overlapping patches of colour in green, blue, yellow and violet; in the centre, the Eiffel Tower can be vaguely discerned. Here, light and colour become the subject in their own right. Robert Delaunay (1885–1941) founded Orphism, a colourful offshoot of Cubism.
