Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

About ‘The Upper World &: A Tribute to M.C. Escher’ by Julian Cross

This impressive and detailed work of art by Julian Cross exudes a mystical, surrealist and intellectual atmosphere. Inspired by the mathematical illusions and engravings of M.C. Escher, the work immediately draws the viewer into an endless world of perspective, symmetry and transformation. It is a real eye-catcher that arouses curiosity, invites observation and creates a refined, philosophical atmosphere.

Julian Cross creates a mirrored, immersive composition brimming with architectural and natural elements. We see complex stairwells, arches and spiral towers that impossibly merge into one another. At the base, winding trees sprout, their leaves and branches fluidly transforming into swarms of birds taking flight. The birds’ morphing effects move gracefully upwards through the architectural labyrinth. The entire work is executed in a rich, detailed black-and-white graphic palette with fine hatching and shading.

Style: Julian Cross’s work falls under the categories of Surrealism, Graphic Art / Engraving Style, Escherian Illusion Art and Monochrome Minimalism. It fits perfectly into modern, industrial, classic or office interiors that call for a unique, artistic identity.
