About "The Three Graces, CARL VON MARR, Approx. 1880-1890"

About the artwork

The Three Graces, or the Triple of Charm, were three sisters from Greek and Roman mythology.

They were the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome but in some stories they are also the offspring of Dionysos and Aphrodite (Venus), or of Helios and the naiade Aegle. According to Roman mythology they were the daughters of Bacchus and Venus.

The Graces are:
Aglaia, she stands for beauty and shine.
Euphrosyne, she stands for joy.
Thalia (or Cleta), she stands for blossoming happiness.

Usually and also here they are depicted as three naked women. On the left one of the girls is naked on the ground, leaving leg, hip, buttock, torso and breasts exposed on the portrait. In the middle, a nude model is depicted frontal on the nude portrait and on the right the third woman is sitting again.

All in all a sexy and sensual erotic picture with romance.

Carl von Marr (February 14, 1858 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; July 10, 1936 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany) was an American-German painter and professor and rector at the University of Munich.

Marr painted numerous genre pieces, religious scenes and depictions of people; some of them were awarded a gold medal.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
