The Thinker and the Dog – A Playful Painting

by Peter Pen Drawings and Paintings

Old Masters with a touch of humour, bronze-green and warm earth tones, a mysterious, picturesque scene featuring *The Thinker* and a French bulldog, living room, study

Rodin’s famous *Thinker* has been joined by an unexpected companion. Beside the monumental bronze statue, a French bulldog sits in the grass, absorbed in exactly the same pensive pose. With his paw under his chin, this little philosopher, too, seems to be pondering the big questions of life.

‘The Thinker and the Dog’ combines classical art with subtle humour. The deep bronze-green of the sculpture, the warm earth tones and the dramatic lighting give the scene the aura of an old master’s painting. The stateliness of the monument forms a wonderful contrast with the serious-looking bulldog.

A charming and quirky work of art for lovers of classical art, dogs and art with a touch of humour. Particularly beautiful as atmospheric wall art in a classical, eclectic or modern-chic interior.
