About "The Swan across the Meuse."

About the artwork

This horizontal photo shows an iconic Rotterdam cityscape: the Erasmus Bridge, also known as "The Swan" for the graceful shape of its asymmetrical pylon. The bridge spans the Nieuwe Maas river and connects the northern and southern parts of the city. In the foreground, we see the river's wide expanse of water, rippling lightly under a cloudy but clear sky. The picture was taken from the north side of the river, overlooking the south side of the city.

The most eye-catching element is the bridge's white-grey, sloping pylon, from which numerous steel cables run down in fan-shape and support the bridge deck. These cables form a rhythmic pattern that, together with the sloping lines, evokes a sense of dynamism and elegance. The modern architecture in the background - including high-rise buildings and a tower crane - emphasises Rotterdam's constantly evolving cityscape.

The sky is filled with soft clouds in shades from light grey to blue, creating a balanced and calm atmosphere. There is no direct sunlight, which keeps the colours natural and muted. The water, sky and bridge contrast nicely with the vertical buildings on the horizon.

The Erasmus Bridge symbolises modern Dutch architecture, innovation and connection. This photo captures the monumental character of the bridge in a calm, almost timeless way, with a good sense of composition and line play.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
