The octagonal polder mill De Meervogel was built in 1801 in Hoeksmeer in the province of Groningen to drain the Noorder Hoeksmeersterpolder (southeast of Garrelsweer). It has been restored several times and is now run by volunteer millers. The windmill is located in a fairly young nature reserve that used to be an agricultural area. For years the mill was owned by the Molenstichting Fivelingo, the current owner is Stichting De Groninger Poldermolens.
