In the middle of Italy lies the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. Ruins of a city that was once bustling with life rise from the ground. Although it is now very peaceful with all the poppies and fragrant herbs that are popping up everywhere, this is the scene of a tragic accident. In 79 B.C. the nearby volcano Vesivius began to erupt, and swallowed up the town with people and all under a thick layer of ash and volcanic rock. The ruins are the only thing left of this once prosperous city.
