About "The Roman Gate of Trier | Porta Nigra | Germany"

About the artwork

This photo shows the imposing Porta Nigra, Trier's most famous structure and one of the best-preserved Roman city gates north of the Alps. Photographed straight from the front, the image does justice to the symmetry and layering of the gate. The dark, weathered sandstone that makes up the monument emphasises the weight of time that has passed over this structure. Each arch, pillar and floor bears traces of two thousand years of history.

The colours in the picture are subdued and true to nature. The stonework ranges from soft beige to deep grey, with a green tinge of moss here and there. The sky in the background is slightly cloudy and soft blue, giving a calm, almost hushed atmosphere. The contrast between the robust architecture and the open space in front of it makes it both powerful and accessible.

This picture appeals to lovers of classic architecture, historic travel destinations and timeless photography. The work comes into its own in interiors with a quiet, earthy base - think Scandinavian design, industrial concrete, or a modern interior with warm wood tones. At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
