A wondrous fairy tale from Indonesia about everyday objects enchanted.
A vain and greedy prince kills his slave for allegedly not waking him up for an appointment with a princess, but the slave turns into a horse. They set off to meet the princess and along the way they find a goatskin, life and death water and a magic feather. The prince, however, requires the prince to fetch more water and the magic feather.
The picture illustration is based on "Vanitas"; an artistic genre originating in the Latin word for "vanity".
