About ‘The Putterer. Bird (7)’ by Ineke de Rijk
Inspired by the painting of the Putter by the painter Carel Fabritius . Drawn here with pastel chalk. It is fun to try to recreate famous paintings or to paint with a different medium than the painter used.
This goldfinch has become bigger than the goldfinch of Carel Fabritius, a bit mature .

Ineke de Rijk's inspiring travels
From the Algarve to The GambiaI have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
