About ‘The Parlour of Forgotten Stories’ by Roy Janssen

In this room, people once gathered to talk, read and make plans. Successes were celebrated and difficult decisions made on these benches. The books on the table carried stories of generations: ideas, dreams and memories that were shared here as if they would naturally last forever.

Now it is silent. The castle to which this salon belonged has gone completely up in smoke. What remains is this one image: three sofas, a table full of books and the view of the trees outside. As if time had lingered for a moment, just before everything disappeared.

This picture reminds us how fragile everything we create is - buildings, businesses, even stories. But it also shows that memories live on as long as we pass them on. Every new day, we write our own chapters, on our own shop floor, with our own people.

This picture is available in a limited edition of only 10 copies.

I am Roy Janssen, urbex photographer with a love of forgotten places.
With my camera, I capture interiors of villas, castles and industrial premises that often now no longer exist - destroyed by time, decay or fire.

My work is all about atmosphere: the play of light and shadow, the silence after all the stories, and the traces of the people who once lived and worked here.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
