The Needles are three elongated chalk cliffs jutting out of the water at the north-western tip of the Isle of Wight, England. At the end of them stands the red and white striped lighthouse. The light from the Needles lighthouse is about 24 metres above sea level and can be seen from a distance of about 22 kilometres, either in white, red or green, depending on the position of the observing vessel.
