As morning gently unfolds over Milan, Piazza del Duomo becomes a scene of quiet splendour, where the first rays of the sun cast a golden veil over the square and the majestic Duomo di Milano. This square, which has been the geographical and cultural hub of the city for centuries, stretches over an impressive 17,000 square metres and in the early hours feels like a vast, breathing space, still untouched by the crowds to come later in the day. The air is crisp and clear, with a hint of humidity that makes the cobblestones shine like a mirror of heaven. The soft sound of doves tripping over the ground and the distant tinkling of a church bell fill the silence, as the city slowly awakens from its slumber.
