About "The Madonna della Corona sanctuary - Italy"

About the artwork

Fascinating painting of the Madonna Della Corona pilgrimage site in Italy where my daughter went hiking with her boyfriend. They were both so enchanted by the monastery that seemed almost impossible to stick on the rock with a beautiful view of the Adige valley. So I gave them immense pleasure by painting this on canvas in oil and gifting it as a gift when they moved into their first home.

It was in the year 1522 that, according to legend, a sculpture of the Madonna della Corona miraculously appeared, transported by angels from Rhodes when the island was invaded by Suliman II's Muslim army. This date is therefore considered the beginning of the sanctuary. To this day, pilgrims and believers visit this site.

The painting draws you to the pilgrimage site, so to speak, and triggers something in the viewer to go and visit the miracle.

For the colours of the trees and forests, I played a lot with Burnt Sienna, Umber, yellow oxide, Phthalo Green and Cadmium Yellow. The many details in the painting and the amount of colours used keeps the viewer enthralled! You will also notice that the colours evoke a completely different atmosphere during the day and in the evening.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
