The lift or the King's harbor bridge is a disused railway bridge across the King Harbour in Rotterdam, which separates the North Island from the district Feijenoord. The bridge formed part of the railway Breda - Rotterdam.
The bridge is now no longer used, because rail traffic since September 24, 1993 from Central Station to South Station, drive through the tunnel Willem.
Through the tunnel mesh bridges were superfluous and De Hef was slated to be demolished. After wide protests of Rotterdam has refrained from doing so.
The old railway bridge is a monument commemorating the place where trains once left the center of Rotterdam.
Love to travel and making photos
