About ‘The Hef in fog’ by Se(iz)e the moment

The Koningshavenbrug, or the Hef in popular parlance, one of Rotterdam's distinctive bridges, separating Noordereiland from the Feijenoord district. The bridge sections of the Koningshavenbrug on the mutual banks date from 1878.

After the inauguration on 24 September 1993 of the Willemsspoortunnel for train traffic between Central Station and Station Zuid, it was possible to focus on the demolition of the redundant alignment. This consisted of the two Maas bridges: the Hef and the Willemsspoorbrug (the other Maasbrug in line with the Hef) and the Luchtspoor.

After wide protests from Rotterdammers, the demolition of the Hef was abandoned. This bridge has been a National Monument since 3 April 2000, a monument commemorating the spot where trains once left Rotterdam city centre.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
