The Hague, the city of peace and justice is the government city of the Netherlands. The city grew up in the Middle Ages around the Hof pond and the Binnenhof. The Binnenhof has been the centre of Dutch politics for centuries. Both the Dutch government and the royal house are located in the city. The Binnenhof was built to serve as a hunting lodge for the counts of Holland, who enjoyed hunting in what is now the Haagsche woods. However, the Binnenhof is not the only thing that makes the city of The Hague fascinating. The old city centre, with its passage, square and main market street make it an attractive attraction for tourists and travellers. Famous other spots in 's-Gravenhage include the Babylon shopping centre, the square, the Buitenhof and, of course, the Voorhout. The Hague is also a city where modern and classical architecture mix. Take a look at the Archipelbuurt where classic stately mansions can be found. The Hague is the city that is great for living and recreation.
