About ‘The Girl and the Poppy’ by annika persson

The image depicts a girl in a simple mustard-yellow dress standing in a dreamlike landscape, gazing up at an oversized poppy. The soft, earthy tones and subtle rays of light create a magical, almost fairytale-like atmosphere where nature appears larger and more beautiful than reality.

My vision with these images is to create art for children that combines the beauty of flowers and nature with a sense of stillness and wonder. I want children to experience my images as beautiful and magical, to dream themselves into the scenes and lose themselves in the details. By incorporating elements of nature – large flowers, muted colors, and a feeling of balance – I hope to create a world where fantasy and reality meet, a place where nature’s simplicity can spark both curiosity and calm. It’s important to me that children experience art that inspires them to see the world with new, dreamlike eyes.
