When I was just starting out in bird photography, I regularly booked a photo hut for an entire day. Such a hut was often no more than a simple shack, cobbled together with some planks, but it offered a perfect place to observe unusual birds undisturbed. In front of the hut was usually a pond where birds came to drink and bathe.
All day, I would sit in the hutch in complete silence, waiting for what was to come. Any movement, any sound could ruin an opportunity, especially with shy species like birds of prey that were always on guard.
Sometimes it was an endless wait, and nothing happened for hours. Keeping your attention then was a challenge. Yet you were almost startled when a bird unexpectedly turned up to take a bath or drink. This work was inspired by such a moment in a bird hide.
I processed the photo I took there in an AI tool like MidJourney. What started as a simple photo of a woodpecker flying away transformed into a unique work of art.
The colourful woodpecker, with its vibrant wing beats above a reflecting pond, now catches the eye immediately.
This artwork is a tribute to the beauty of birds in their natural habitat, perfect for lovers of abstract bird art and unique wall decorations.
